Mathodius Adrian Gronroos, Korpo, Finland and Carlotta Hoglund, Upsala, Sweden met on a boat that left Sweden in March/April 1904 and were married in May when they arrived in the United States..
They had three children - all boys: Ernest, John and Arthur. The name Gronroos was changed to the "American/English" name of Greenrose.
Ernest Greenrose had two children, Cristin and Eric. John Greenrose passed away at age 21. And Arthur Greenrose had two daughters, Elise and Linda.
Cristin has five children and also lives in the Catskill Mountains. Eric is married but has no children.
Elise who lives in the Catskill Mountains has three children : Elyse, Adam and Keil. Elyse has five children and lives up near the Canadian border. Adam and Keil are yet unmarried.
Elyse's children are: Joel, Rachel, Philip, Isabel and Chloe
Linda who lives in the Catskill Mountains has five children: Laura, Eugene, Janna, Francis (Frankie) and Joe.
Laura has four children: Danny, Michael (who passed away in 1993 at age three), Catelyn and Joshua.
Janna has three children: Brianna and Robert and Brandon, twin boys.
Eugene has step children - and Francis (Frankie) and Joseph (Joe) are yet unmarried.
We have cousins in New York City, Elsie Gronroos, wife of Theodore Gronroos (deceased) who was the son of Mathodius Gronroos's brother John. They have two children, John and Thomas.
We know that Carlotta Hoglund Gronroos has relatives in Colorado, but have not been in touch with them since the '50's, and we have had correspondence with Carlotta Hoglund's half-sister's Els Britt family who lives in Tierp 860815 Sweden. Els Britt had children named Tina, Helene and possibly others.
